2006年発売のポール・ウェラーのオールタイムベスト。アルバムは2 つのバージョンがリリースされた。一つは、ポールのキャリアの各時代からのセレクトされたシングル ディスク。もう一つは、1977年のザ・ジャム時代のトラック「In The City」から2005年の「Blink & You'll miss it」まで、キャリア28年の全てのシングルを網羅した4枚組全67曲のボックスセット。ディスク1がザ・ジャム時代、ディスク2がザ・スタイル・カウンシル時代、ディスク3.4がソロ時代とまさにポール・ウェラーの集大成ボックス・セットとなっている。

「カフェ・アブレ・ミディ」や「フリーソウル」シリーズでお馴染みの、日本での音楽編集の第一人者、橋本徹氏が選曲したポール・ウェラーのコンピレーションアルバム。通常のベスト盤とは違い、橋本氏自らソウル、ネオアコといった視点から厳選した日本独自企画盤。

In The City

1977年4月29日にリリースされたザ・ジャムのデビューシングル。この曲を皮切りに18曲連続で全英シングルトップ40に入るという快進撃を果たし、国民的バンドとなる。1980年に「ゴーイング・アンダーグラウンド」で初めての全英1位を獲得した後、ポリドール・レコードはそれまでの9枚のシングルを再発売し、「イン・ザ・シティ」は2度目の40位に達した。更に2002年、ポリドール・レコードはザ・ジャム結成25周年記念として発売当時のままの7インチシングル盤で再発売。この限定版はあっと言う間に売りきれ、3度目のトップ40に返り咲いた。

セックス・ピストルズの「Holidays In The Sun」は「イン・ザ・シティ」のリフとそっくりであり、怒ったポールがセックス・ピストルズのベーシスト、シド・ヴィシャスを殴った話はあまりにも有名。

The Eton Rifles

1979年10月26日リリース、アルバム『Setting Sons』からの唯一のシングル。ザ・ジャムにとって初めての全英TOP10ソングとなり、最高位3位まで上がった。イギリスのエリート校「イートンスクール」を皮肉った歌であるが、イートンスクール卒業生でイギリス元首相のデイヴィッド・キャメロンがこの曲をお気に入りの一つと述べていることについて、ポール・ウェラーは痛烈に拒絶している。

Going Underground

1980年3月にリリースされたザ・ジャム初の全英ナンバーワンシングル。全英シングルチャート初登場から3週連続ナンバーワンとなった。ザ・ジャムの6枚のオリジナルアルバムには収録されていないが、コンピレーションアルバム等には収録されている。1980年に英国で15番目に売れたシングルとなり、イギリスの音楽情報誌『NME』では1980 年の「トラック オブ ザ イヤー」の第2位にランクされた。政治腐敗、サッチャー批判、有権者の無関心などがテーマとなっている。

The Town Called Malice

ザ・ジャムを紹介するときに、必ずといっていいほど使われる曲。モータウンへの傾倒が如実に現れたバンドの代表曲。1982 年1月29日にアルバム『The Gift』からの最初のシングルとしてリリースされ、UK シングル チャート初登場1位、3週間トップにとどまり、ザ・ジャムとしても3曲目のNo.1ソングとなった。アルバムも1位に輝き、ザ・ジャムは名実ともに英国を代表するバンドとなった。

邦題は「悪意という名の街」。曲のタイトルは、1950年のネビル・シュートの小説『アリスのような街（A Town Like Alice）』から取られたといわれているが、ポール自身はその本を読んでいないと言っている。
